Paediatric gynaecology as a separate sub-specialty of gynaecology deals with the care of adolescent girls from their birth. In our clinic, we treat girls from infancy onwards, and continue to work with them until the start of their sexual life. We also deal with acute and chronic inflammation, developmental problems, puberty disorders and we also treat injuries. In the case of more serious conditions requiring hospitalisation, we cooperate with the Clinic of Paediatric Surgery and Traumatology at TUH.
The most common problems include:
- labial synechiae – adhesion of mucous membranes of the vaginal entrance, most often occurring in children under 5 years of age,
- discharge in girls before the first menstruation,
- early onset of menstruation in children under 10 years of age, irregular menstrual cycles or bleeding outside of them, and absence of menstruation after the age of 15,
- premature development of secondary sexual characteristics – pubic hair and breast growth in children under 10 years of age,
- injuries in the genital area and a foreign body in the vagina,
- itching, burning or strong odour in the genital area,
- severe pain in the lower abdomen.
All examinations are carried out by prior appointment on the following telephone number: +420 261 082 355.
