For foreign patients

Foreigners who need the hospital care and are holder of Czech health insurance visit directly the relevant department. At the department reception desk prove their indentity, present their insurance card (green or blue colour) and pay regulatory fee. They could be asked to fill in properly the form given by the staff so the Hospital could contact regarding insurance company for refunding the healthcare provision.


Czech commercial health insurance

  • Thomayer Hospital is a contractual partner to insurance companies: SLAVIA, MAXIMA, UNIQA, ERGO (Victoria), PVZP ltd. Persons having this type of health insurance are asked to contact the insurance provider (assistance service – tel. no. could be found on the insurance card) and the appropriate health care facility should be reccomended according to the health disorders.
      
  • When visiting Thomayer Hospital in the time of office hours (daily from  8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) the foreign department should be firstly attended (D building, ground floor left). The validity of health  insurance and coverage of expensens are to be verified. The patient will be therafter directed to the appropriate department, no regulatory fee is to be paid.

European health insurance

  • The European Union residents present the health insurance card of home country (one side of card is of white blue colour with stars and name of country at upper right corner). The holders are provided free of charge medical care, however, the regulatory fee is to be paid. The insurance card is copied at the department (for requiring the reimbursement). Non European Union residents

  • Persons without aforementioned types of health insurance must pay the expenses of medical care provided. The way of payment accepted: the cash payment, bank or wire transfer to the hospital account, and  payment by credit card (in near future). No regulatory fees are required.

Medical care at the outpatient departments:

The direct payment is required (the deposit for laboratory examinations, if needed).


Hospitalization

Scheduled hospitalization - the payment of deposit before commencement of hospitalization is required (cash payment, bank fransfer and credit card payment (in near future). The invoice will be sent for paying the rest of expenses according to the final statement. (cash, bank transfer). In case of higher expenses, the contract of instalments can be arranged.

Acute hospitalization - the patient will be contacted by foreign department representant to prepare the „contract on self payed health care“ and the payment of deposit is required. After termination of hospitalization, the invoice will be sent for paying the rest of expenses according to the final statement (cash, bank transfer). In case of higher expenses, the contract of instalments can be arranged.
